No Other: The Story of Jonah

Furious With God

Jonah 4:1-4

  1. It is good that the Lord is slow to anger - it means that justice matters.

  2. You can have justice without mercy, but you cannot have mercy without justice.

  3. To offer mercy is to offer to personally bear a cost.

  4. Your enmity to the Lord is always present.

  5. On the cross, Jesus bore the full cost of the Lord’s mercy to you.

  6. Lord, You are full of grace and mercy, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. You take no delight in the death of a sinner, but desire that we will turn from our wrong doing, and live. Please bring the good news of who Jesus is and what He did for me, deep into my heart so that I will be slow to speak, slow to anger, and quick to listen. In Jesus’ Name. Amen
